What Is The Reason Behind The Development Of Global Step Academy?
In 2050 Japan's working population is estimated to be around 55 million people. Just like how developed countries have gradually moved over from manufacturing based economies to service based economies, each individual must become more efficient and effective in order to raise their individual productivity. In addition to this, where globalization is escalating everyday this means that each individual will have to do this while competing globally. We believe the following three elements that include essential skill sets are the catalysts to make this happen:
1) Ability to critically think and make appropriate decisions / judgements through effective information gathering.
2) Ability to make resourceful networks and relations that have high synergetic relations.
3) Ability to lead by clearly communicating ideas and visions to others, while respecting differences among people and being humble and empathetic to others.
In other words, in order to become an individual with the ability to make a difference or create change in the way they envision, they have to be able to gather essential items which are: resources, people and money. This means they will always have to be able go gather appropriate information efficiently, analyse it critically, make complex decisions, while discussing it if necessary, and clearly communicate it to others with diverse backgrounds and different values.
With the rapidly growing gap between English and Japanese where the population of English speakers are over 10 times that of Japanese speakers, and the amount of information online is over 10 times more of what is available in Japanese, unless these elements and skill sets are English based, we believe that they are not effective.
We believe the major changes that are occurring due to the accelerating globalization is extremely serious and that we need to adapt and evolve with the change by preparing students today, but unfortunately from what we see we do not believe that the Japanese government is taking this serious enough and investing enough resource, therefore we decided to establish Global Step Academy.
