Company Description
SSIS is a new international school, founded in March, 2017 and located in Edogawa Ward in Tokyo. We started with 3 students in kindergarten and have since grown to over 50 students. We are currently educating students from 2 years 8 months to grade 3, with plans to expand to grade 4 in the 2018/19 academic year.
Due to the nature of international schools in Japan, we do have rolling enrollment, but our school year starts in late August and ends in mid-July.
One of our goals in the upcoming years is to become an International Baccalaureate World School for the Primary Years Programme. SSIS is currently a PYP candidate school. The PYP is based on constructivist theory and emphasizes inquiry based teaching and learning. Therefore, all faculty will receive PYP professional development as part of the process if they are working with students from K3-Primary.
